During Memorial Day Weekend we experienced some of the biggest storms Texas has seen. The constant rain filled river banks creating flash floods that destroyed roads, businesses, and homes. Fortunately there's non-profit organizations like The Austin Disaster Relief Network that are here to help.

The Austin Disaster Relief Network is comprised of churches, ministries and businesses within the community of Greater Austin to form a disaster relief alliance to help those in need in times of disaster.

CASA of Travis County speaks up for children who’ve been abused or neglected by empowering our community to volunteer as advocates for them in the court system. When the state steps in to protect a child’s safety, a judge appoints a trained CASA volunteer to make independent and informed recommendations in the child’s best interest. All funds raised would be put to good use to recruit and train new CASA volunteers to help CASA of Travis County reach their goal of a volunteer for every child in need.

For over 40 years, Earth Day has inspired individuals worldwide to demonstrate their commitment to environmental protection and sustainability. During that time, Austin has become one of the “greenest” cities in the nation, proving our local community supports the protection of the environment through policy initiatives and business practices. For this reason, Austin Parks Foundation, Hill Country Conservancy, Texas Land Conservancy, Texas Campaign for the Environment Fund, and Shoal Creek Conservancy are collaborating for the Sixth annual “Give 5% to Mother Earth” campaign.

The mission of DiverseArts/Kenny Dorham’s Backyard is to launch a package of interrelated projects that focus on the culture of urban sustainability: Art, Music, Culture, Food, and Education. Rather than having Kenny Dorham’s Backyard function only for evening events, our plan calls for a series of integrated programs that will allow the space to be open for public use on a regular daily basis and become an accessible community asset for neighborhood families and visitors. In essence, what we seek is to make the venue a functional demonstration project that will ultimately become a prime destination and major cultural asset for the East Austin Cultural Heritage District.

Donations will go directly to venue improvements and maintenance: landscaping/gardens, monthly overhead, and management.
